Nemacolin Artist in Residence Program
The Nemacolin Artist in Residence Program nurtures creativity and collaboration, offering artists the opportunity to work in an inspiring setting within Pennsylvania’s picturesque Laurel Highlands. Guests can observe artists in action, engage in interactive experiences, and gain insight into the creative process, from brush-to-canvas to wood-to-lathe.
Sarah Royer was invited to showcase in June 2021, June 2022, June 2023, and December 2024. She brought her art to life through live demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and engaging public events. Her presence in the program has not only showcased her distinctive style but also invited visitors to witness the transformative journey of artistic creation.

(June 2020) Sarah Royer as the Artist in Residence at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Royer took photographs at PJ’s Ice cream Parlor at Nemacolin, then transferred the images onto a silk-screen and printed it onto paper. She is currently working on a limited edition series of 6 images inspired by photographs taken at the resort.

Shoreby Club Artist in Residence Program
The Shoreby Club Artist in Residence program brings together creativity and community in a picturesque lakefront setting. From Summer/Fall of 2020 to Summer/Fall of 2023, Royer’s vibrant, textural works took center stage, enriching the program with her interactive workshops and live demonstrations. Members and guests had the unique opportunity to engage with her artistic process, learning firsthand the techniques behind her expressive creations. Through events that blended education and inspiration, Royer’s residency highlighted the dynamic connection between art and audience, leaving a lasting impression on the Shoreby Club community.
