Artwork

Sarah Royer creates high contrast, screen-prints of digitally altered photos that she has taken on her travels to cities throughout the US and Europe.

Inspired by architecture, art, and people, Royer captures a timeless quality in these iconic cities.  Influenced by Andy Warhol, she uses the photographic emulsion process to transfer her photos onto screen, creating a stencil that is ready to be printed.

DayGloSho 6&7

DayGlo Corporation sponsors an annual show were regional and national artists are invited to create works inspired by the DayGlo palette. “Soup of Sarah” was created by screen-printing on a canvas and hand painting DayGlo paint in the background.

DayGloSho7 included “Karina’s Shoes at the Beachland”, and “Marco at the Beachland” both combine screen-printing and DayGlo paint.

“Sarah Royer’s “Karina’s Shoes at the Beachland” is a great example of pushing the envelope with the paint. The artist screen-printed the color on top of her photograph of a patron or artist at a concert. The work is expertly executed and whets our appetite for more of the same.”
